One of the things that the Kardashians are known for is their love for black men. Kim Kardashian, who is married to Kanye West, is the most famous member of the clan and has often had her dating preferences questioned by the public.
This week, the two appeared at the 2015 BET Honors, which is set to be on the air on February 23rd of this year. West was given the Visionary Award for a video featuring himself, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Common and Damon Dash. Apparently, Dash and Kanye are now friends again after having a few rocky years in the past. Dash is also the person who gave Kanye his first big break.
“My history with Kanye is I didn’t respect him as a rapper because I was around the greatest rappers,” Dash stated. “But he has courage.”
Kanye accepted his award, and responded with his typical zany style of commentary. People kind of expect him to go off the deep end at some point, so this was no surprise.
“I understand what it is to be humbled for the first time,” West said.
“They say white girls go out and get a rich black dude. But my wife has dated broke black dudes. So it’s not about the money,” West stated.
We’re not sure why Kanye felt the need to use the awards show as a chance to defend his choice of spouse. But that’s what Kanye (and other insecure men) do in similar situations. Read on:
Interestingly enough, his wife has dated numerous professional athletes, so I’m not quite sure what type of “broke” he’s referring to. But maybe it was a direct shot at Ray J?
You’d have to wonder if West actually has some type of insecurity issues when it comes to his wife and all of the other black men she’s dated. They may not have had his length of money, but they definitely weren’t making minimum wage at Wal-Mart. So to West, you win. You have more money than Damon Thomas, Ray J, Nick Cannon, Reggie Bush, Miles Austin and Kris Humphries. You’ve won a prized white woman. #Sarcasm.
