A court in Qatar will soon rule on the appeal of a Chinese-American couple accused of starving to deαth their adopted daughter from Ghana.
Matthew and Grace Huang of Los Angeles thought a request by the State Department to allow them to come home while the appeal is pending would’ve been considered by the court, but it was mostly ignored, giving them little in the way of optimism.
Even though a pathologist testified that the couple’s eight year old daughter was denied food, the couple insists that they’re being railroaded. They say that eight year old Gloria had a eating disorder stemming from her life of malnutrition in Ghana. In addition, people who knew the couple said the girl was in good spirits prior to her passing.
“You lie! You lie!” Mr. Huang shouted when a government pathologist accused he and his wife of withholding food from their adopted child, reports the New York Times.
