Robert Pattinson’s new girlfriend, FKA Twigs, has spoken out about the “unacceptable” racist abuse she’s endured at the hands of Internet trolls.
“I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week,” the singer, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, tweeted Sunday.
Her relationship with the “Twilight” star went public last week when they were spotted cuddling and holding hands in Los Angeles, reports Us Weekly.
Obviously peeved by the half-Jamaican, half-Spanish singer’s romance with Pattinson, online haters, who may be his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart’s fans, have attacked Twigs with racist remarks.
“Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it’s unacceptable online,” she tweeted.
The 28-year-old actor started dating Twigs last month before they officially stepped out last week.
Shortly after their public outing is when the hate filled message began flooding her social media platforms.
The 26-year-old singer posted an Instagram photo of herself, celebrating her heritage.
“Arrow Jamaica Latina bambina,” she captioned the black-and-white pic, which has also been scrutinized by hateful responses.
“Let’s hope Rob pays for some facial reconstruction,” one hater wrote.
Thankfully not everyone is so quick to post nasty messages. In fact, some came to Twigs’ defense.
